The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Diaspora Network’s RSA Wing has convened a crucial consultative dialogue, bringing together members from across South Africa.
The event, held on Saturday, 26 October 2024, at the Marlboro Community Centre in Johannesburg, aimed to address pressing issues surrounding unity, political strategy, and community engagement.
MCPDN RSA Wing Director, Phaskani Msiska, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of solidarity and the organization’s three-year strategic plan.
“We must unite and work together to strengthen our voice and enhance our impact, not only for the Diaspora but also for the benefit of Malawi,” Mr. Msiska said.
The dialogue included dynamic plenary and breakout sessions, focusing on unity and reconciliation, youth and women engagement, and resource mobilization.
In a symbolic gesture, the event concluded with a reintegration ceremony, welcoming back former members and emphasizing forgiveness, reconciliation, and collective strength.
The MCP Diaspora Network’s efforts to foster unity and engagement among its members are seen as crucial ahead of Malawi’s 2025 general elections.
