UDF SAYS ATUPELE TO BE PRESIDENT, CLAIM APM IS SICK AND OLD

Reports have emarged that UDF is going round mosques courting sheikhs to tell their faithful to vote for the DPP/UDF partnership saying the alliance runningmate Atupele Muluzi will be running affairs of the country claiming Pesident Mutharika is old and sick.

Several sources disclosed that several sheikhs have received instructions from UDF leaders to urge all moslems in the country to vote for DPP/UDF alliance because a fellow muslim, Atupele, will be President when the alliance wins.

“We are being urged to vote for DPP/UDF alliance. Our Sheikhs say they have been informed that our fellow muslim Atupele will be running the country because President Mutharika is old and sick,” said one source who is a muslim.

Another source said the sheikhs have been instructed to itensify the campaign in all mosques. This comes barely a few days after former President Bakili Muluzi’s slip of the tongue telling his kinsmen and chiefs at kapoloma in Machinga that Atupele will be President went viral on social media.

” I called this meeting to thank Professor Mutharika for appointing one of our sons, Atupele, as runningmate who will be President. Ooh sorry Vice President,” said Muluzi senior.

Tonse Allinace leaders have censored politicians against diving the country on religious lines during campaign. UTM Leader Salous Chilima and MCP presidential Candidate Lazarous Chakwera have on several ocasions during campaign meetings denounced dividing Malawians using religion or tribe.

Atupele recently came under fire after he claimed during a poltical rally in Chiradzulu that Police Officer Imedi was killed in Nsundwe in Lilongwe because he was a moslem.
